Modern technology allows us to collect an enormous amount of information about athletes. GPS, power, heart rate, lactate, HRV...
But data alone does not explain performance.
My work is not about generating more data, but about interpreting what that information means within each athlete's physiological context to make more precise decisions.
A method built on understanding how the body responds.
Every athlete responds differently to training.
That is why my method combines assessment, monitoring and physiological analysis to connect three elements:
The stimulus performed.
What work has the athlete actually done?
The response produced.
How has their body responded?
The right decision.
What should we change, maintain or progress?
Understand the starting point
Before making training decisions, it is necessary to understand where the athlete currently stands.
Through physiological testing and specific assessments I analyse variables that establish an initial reference:
- Physiological profile.
- Training zones.
- Current capacities.
- The athlete's goals.
The aim is not to obtain one more number, but to understand where we are starting from.
Verify how it evolves
Performance is not static.
Throughout the process, performance tests make it possible to check how the athlete is evolving and whether the adaptations produced match the intended objective.
Depending on the discipline and the context, parameters such as these can be assessed:
- Power.
- Speed.
- Pace.
- Heart rate.
- Lactate.
- Response to effort.
Measuring the evolution allows the process to be adjusted with objective information.
Interpret the physiological response
Training metrics show what happens, but they do not always explain why it happens.
The same session can produce different responses in two athletes.
That is why interpretation must integrate:
- External load.
- Internal response.
- The athlete's status.
- Moment of the season.
- Training context.
The value is not in having more data, but in understanding what it means.
